Introduction

Before joining a SafeTalk Telehealth session, it’s important to make sure your device, browser, and internet connection meet the recommended requirements.

Using a supported browser and compatible hardware helps ensure stable video, clear audio, and a smooth therapy experience.

Before joining a telehealth session, make sure you have:

  • Laptop or desktop computer (recommended for the best experience)
  • Minimum 4GB RAM
  • Built-in or external webcam
  • Built-in or external microphone
  • Headphones or earphones (recommended to reduce echo and feedback)
  • Stable internet connection
  • Updated web browser

SafeTalk Telehealth supports the latest versions of:

  • Safari (macOS)
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge

Using an unsupported or outdated browser may result in:

  • Unable to join telehealth sessions
  • Camera or microphone issues
  • Audio or video interruptions
  • Reduced session quality

Internet Requirements

A stable internet connection is important for a smooth telehealth experience.

We recommend:

  • Minimum 15 Mbps internet speed
  • Stable Wi-Fi or wired connection
  • Avoid downloading large files or using heavy internet applications during sessions

For better stability:

  • Use a wired connection if available.
  • Stay close to your Wi-Fi router.
  • Avoid using public or restricted networks where possible.

Camera & Microphone Permissions

Before joining your first SafeTalk Telehealth session, make sure your browser has permission to access:

  • Camera
  • Microphone

When prompted by your browser:

  1. Select Allow for camera access.
  2. Select Allow for microphone access.
  3. Confirm the correct camera and microphone are selected.

Before Every Session

We recommend checking the following before joining:

  • Your browser is updated.
  • Your internet connection is stable.
  • Your webcam and microphone are connected.
  • Camera and microphone permissions are enabled.
  • Your device meets the recommended requirements.

Taking a few minutes to prepare can help prevent interruptions during your session.


Preparing Your Environment

For the best telehealth experience:

  • Join from a quiet and private location.
  • Ensure your face is well-lit.
  • Use headphones to reduce echo.
  • Close unnecessary applications and browser tabs.
  • Position your camera at eye level.

Using VPNs & Network Restrictions

Some corporate, school, or restricted networks may block video and audio connections.

If you experience connection problems:

  • Try switching to another network.
  • Disable your VPN temporarily.
  • Use a personal internet connection if possible.
