Offering discounts or special access with vouchers is a great way to attract new clients, reward loyal ones, or partner with organizations. With SafeTalk, you can easily create and manage vouchers directly inside your account – no need for third-party tools.

In this guide, we’ll walk through:

    • The different types of vouchers available on SafeTalk
    • How to set them up step by step
    • Examples of when you might use each type
    • How to track and manage vouchers once they’re in use

    Types of Vouchers in SafeTalk

SafeTalk gives you flexibility with three types of vouchers:

    1. Fixed Amount (One-Time Per Account)
      • A flat amount (e.g., RM50) is deducted from the total invoice.
      • Each client account can use this voucher once.
      • Best for: seasonal promotions (e.g., “RM50 off your first session in September”).
    2. Percentage Off (One-Time Per Account)
      • A percentage discount (e.g., 10% off) is applied to the total invoice.
      • Each client account can use it once.
      • Best for: welcoming new clients with “10% off your first booking.”
    3. Fixed Amount (Sharable)
      • A set voucher amount (e.g., RM1,000) is purchased and can be shared across multiple clients.
      • The voucher balance is used up as employees or members redeem it.
      • Best for: Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) — e.g., a company buys a RM1000 voucher, and any employee can use it until the balance runs out.

How to Create a Voucher in SafeTalk

    1. Login to your SafeTalk Account
    2. Go to the Management -> “Vouchers & Promos”
    3. Click “Add new Voucher”
    4. Fill in Voucher Details
      • Voucher Code: Choose a code with letters and numbers only (e.g., WELCOME10).
      • Type: Select from Fixed Amount, Percentage, or Sharable.
      • Assigned Services: Decide whether the voucher applies to all services or only certain ones (e.g., intake sessions).
      • Stock: Limit how many times the voucher can be redeemed.
      • Start & Expiry Date (optional): Set when the voucher becomes invalid.
👉 Example: You could create a WELCOME50 voucher worth RM50 off, valid for the first 20 new clients, expiring at the end of the month.
    5. Save the Voucher
Once saved, the voucher is ready to be shared with your clients.

    Managing and Tracking Vouchers

    • Voucher Details Page
From here, you can see which clients have redeemed the voucher and how much value is left (especially useful for sharable vouchers).
    • Earnings Page
Any invoices paid with a voucher will be clearly marked. This way, you always know how promotions affect your earnings.
    • Adjusting Vouchers on Invoices
      • Accidentally applied the wrong voucher? No problem — therapists can remove a voucher from an invoice anytime.
      • Need to add a voucher after creating an invoice? You can do that too.

    Real-World Examples

    • Attract new clients: “10% off your first session — use code NEW10.”
    • Seasonal promotions: “RM100 off during Mental Health Awareness Month.”
    • Corporate partnerships (EAP): Company X purchases a RM2000 sharable voucher for employees to access counseling sessions.

    Final Tips

    • Keep voucher codes simple and professional (letters + numbers only).
    • Track usage to understand which promotions bring the most value.
    • Use expiry dates to create urgency and encourage early bookings.
