Situations like <em><strong>referral cases, multi-therapist programs, supervision, or even temporary therapist handovers<\/strong><\/em> often require another therapist to access a client\u2019s session history, forms, or progress notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SafeTalk\u2019s <strong>Client Data Sharing<\/strong> feature allows you to securely and easily share a client&#8217;s data with another therapist within your organization &#8211; without compromising privacy or needing to manually send files. Let&#8217;s learn how it works.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-share-access\">How to give client data access to another therapist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video rounded-2xl-custom\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" autoplay loop muted src=\"https:\/\/safetalk.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/share-access-1.mp4\" playsinline><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Login to your <a href=\"https:\/\/app.safetalk.space\/login\">SafeTalk Account<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <strong><em>My Clients<\/em><\/strong> &amp; open the <strong>History <\/strong>of your selected Client<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the top right corner, click on the <em><strong>Share Icon<\/strong><\/em>(\u2399) &amp; a popup window will open<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill up the necessary info: <em>Select the therapist<\/em> &amp; what information you&#8217;d like to share\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can select multiple items from: <strong><em>Services, Sessions, Payments, Case Notes, Files &amp; Tasks, Journals, Emails<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong><em>Share <\/em><\/strong>and you are done<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once shared, the selected therapist will have access to your <em>session history, case notes, and other relevant information based on the access level you\u2019ve granted<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This feature is particularly helpful when you need another therapist to review a client\u2019s records or provide additional support.<em> If you\u2019re transferring a client completely &#8211; where the new therapist will need to manage communication, scheduling, and ongoing engagement &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/safetalk.space\/blog\/managing-transitions-the-therapists-guide-to-reassignment-of-clients\/\">check out our guide on how to reassign clients to another therapist for a smoother handover process<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>If your practice requires client consent before sharing their information with another therapist, you can easily manage this through <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/safetalk.space\/blog\/essential-therapy-forms-for-your-therapy-practice-with-safetalks-forms-templates\/\">SafeTalk Forms<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have already given other therapist(s) access to this client, you will see their name listed on the popup, where you can also remove\/update the access at any time <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image rounded-2xl-custom\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/safetalk.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/shared-access-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3574\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.6463022508038585;object-fit:cover\" srcset=\"https:\/\/safetalk.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/shared-access-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/safetalk.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/shared-access-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/safetalk.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/shared-access-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/safetalk.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/shared-access-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/safetalk.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/shared-access.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where Does The Shared Data Appear &amp; How To View It<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two different ways to view shared data from another therapist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"dedicated-link\">Via a Dedicated Link<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Once inside your SafeTalk Account, open <strong><em>My Clients<\/em><\/strong> page &amp; filter the results by <strong><em>Shared <\/em><\/strong>only<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All the Clients who&#8217;s information has been shared with you from other therapist&#8217;s within your Team will be displayed here. You can click on <strong>History<\/strong> &amp; view the shared information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video rounded-2xl-custom\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" autoplay controls loop muted src=\"https:\/\/safetalk.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/view-shared-access.mp4\" playsinline><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"consolidated-view\">Consolidated Client History<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s say <strong><em>Client A<\/em><\/strong>&#8216;s(who is also your client at the moment) data from another Therapist has been shared with you. Obviously you can use the steps above to do multiple clicks &amp; view the shared data. It helps teams collaborate more effectively without compromising client privacy or struggling with manual data sharing.
